Aviation Test Engineer
When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development—rigorous testing ensures the best possible software. As a test engineer on our team you’ll collaborate with testers, developers, and engineers to evaluate software developed for our nation’s airspace. You’ll create test plans, write and execute automated test scripts, observe performance, document results, and communicate defects to improve the tool.
You’ll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor system health. This role leverages your skills in writing code to test and deepens your experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and aviation operations.
- Create test plans and write test cases based on user stories.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts and observe software performance.
- Document test results and communicate defects to the development team.
- Automate continuous security and performance testing.
- Monitor system health and contribute to software solutions modernizing the nation’s airspace.
- 2+ years of experience with Databricks.
- 2+ years of experience developing and testing requirements and user stories.
- 2+ years of experience writing test scripts for products and systems and executing tests.
- 2+ years of experience with automated testing.
- Experience preparing user stories, documenting defects, and tracking to resolution.
- Experience setting up code repositories, branching, and merging.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with aviation, geospatial, and weather datasets.
- Experience enabling the Continuous Delivery Pipeline using requirements and design guidelines.
- Experience participating in the Continuous Exploration process as part of the CI/CD Pipeline.
- Experience with Agile methodology for software engineering and product management.
- Experience working with federal agencies.

CompensationProjected annualized salary range: $62,000.00 to $ (USD). This posting will close within 90 days of the posting date.

Work Model- If this position is listed as remote or hybrid, you’ll periodically work from a Booz Allen or client site facility.
