AWS Engineer; OpenSearch Serverless

Virtual Service Operations is searching for an AWS Engineer (Open Search Serverless) to join our team.

This is a hands‑on build role centered on serverless architecture and identity/security implementation. Candidates should be strong Python/CDK builders with deep Open Search experience — this is not a traditional Data Architect or Data Lake role.

• A serverless-focused builder who combines strong Python/CDK development skills with deep Open Search (including Serverless) expertise and solid identity/security fundamentals.
• Comfortable owning end‑to‑end implementation of serverless components with embedded authentication and authorization patterns.

• Amazon Open Search and Open Search Serverless — deep, hands‑on experience (primary focus of the role)
• AWS serverless stack — API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB
• AWS CDK with Python — the solution is built in Python CDK; strong Python and CDK proficiency is essential
• Identity & access engineering — hands‑on experience with JWTs, OAuth, and Lambda authorize rs

• 8+ years of professional experience
• Must work from a SCIF all five days a week (preferably in the DC metro area)
• Active TS/SCI Clearance
• Please note that this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status
