Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, Front End Subscriptions

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Subscriptions team at The Washington Post. This role spans the full application stack with a strong emphasis on frontend applications and customer-facing experiences. You will design and build modern web applications primarily using React and Type Script, while also contributing to backend services built with Java and Node.js and the AWS infrastructure and deployment systems that support them.

As a senior engineer, you will take ownership of complex technical work from design through production, contribute to architectural decisions, and help improve the quality, performance, reliability, accessibility, and maintainability of the applications our subscription products depend on.

The ideal candidate brings strong frontend engineering experience, particularly with React, JavaScript, and Type Script, along with practical experience working with backend services and APIs. You should be able to contribute to Java and Node.js applications and be comfortable with AWS, CI/CD, observability, and production operations. This is a frontend-focused role, but you should be capable of delivering effectively across the full stack.

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate customer-facing applications and services supporting our subscription products.
• Develop modern frontend applications primarily using React, JavaScript, and Type Script.
• Build and improve subscription experiences such as checkout, offers, paywalls, product pages, subscriber lifecycle flows, and mobile web and native app integrations.
