Senior Software Engineer

Washington , DC 100% Remote Full Time $175k - $200k This fully remote opportunity is with a fast-growing fintech startup building modern payment infrastructure used by businesses around the world. The company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to develop and scale mission-critical systems using Type Script, Node.js, AWS Lambda, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL in a full-time capacity.

Required Skills & Experience

· 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments

· Strong experience with Type Script and Node.js

· Expertise designing and optimizing PostgreSQL data models

· Hands-on experience building GraphQL APIs

· Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architectures

· Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Cloud Formation or Serverless Framework

· Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure handling of sensitive data

· Experience integrating third-party APIs and building resilient distributed systems

Desired Skills & Experience

· Experience building or maintaining high-scale APIs

· Background in fintech, payments, compliance, tax, or banking systems

· Experience with Hasura GraphQL

· Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Sentry and Open Telemetry

· Experience supporting international users, multi-currency payments, or cross-border transactions
