Warehouse Associate – Full Time, Weekly Pay (1st Shift)
Location:
Washington, DC
Receives, counts, locates and inspects food and non‑food items. Performs general warehouse duties such as filling orders, loading and unloading trucks, moving and locating product, assisting with volunteer projects, and maintaining cleanliness of the distribution center in accordance with food safety and company sanitation guidelines. Works in a warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure and frequent temperature changes.
Essential Functions- Accurately fills agency orders by pulling products from the warehouse location, scanning the product and rack label, and loading cases on pallets for shipping or pick‑up.
- Maintains accurate inventory levels with at least 95% accuracy during regular inventory counts.
- Ensures product is secured by safely stacking and shrink‑wrapping to the pallet.
- Safely operates warehouse equipment and follows all company safety rules and procedures.
- Assists other departments within operations as needed.
- Maintains a high level of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the building, including racks, freezer, and cooler locations.
- Completes daily warehouse sanitation logs and equipment checklists.
- Adheres to and follows all AIB Food Safety practices and procedures.
- Ensures the NOVA transfer truck is checked and loaded.
- Backfills for the NOVA terminal, Agency Mart Lead, and Receiving team when needed.
- Cross‑trains to provide support across the Operations department.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse or operations environment.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices and warehouse technology.
- Valid license to operate a motor vehicle, forklift, or pallet jack.
- Ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends.
- Effective communication with staff, volunteers, donors, and agency representatives.
- Adheres to warehouse safety as regulated by OSHA and the AIB Food Safety Guidelines.
- Excellent customer service skills.

- Standing for more than 75% of the work day.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally climb or balance.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds; frequently lift or move objects weighing more than 50 pounds; occasionally lift or move objects weighing more than 100 pounds.
- Requires close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure and moving forklifts and pallet jacks.

- Non‑exempt; eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable laws.
- Tuesday – Thursday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
