Solano Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time instructor role within the Business Insurance:
Property and Casualty Certificate Program. The curriculum includes specialized courses in property and liability insurance, personal insurance, and insurance codes and ethics.
This position is a part-time position. The teaching assignment may require teaching lecture-discussion courses during day, evening or on Saturday and/or in an on-line/distance education format. The assignments are as needed, during Spring, Summer, and/or Fall semesters. The district may cancel classes or change instructors as enrollment needs are determined.

- Oral interviews will be conducted to include a teaching demonstration.
- Travel costs related to the interview are the responsibility of the candidate.
Paid office hours are available to adjunct faculty in fall and spring semesters who teach a 40% assignment or more.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with established course outlines and expectations.
- Inform students about course requirements; prepare and grade assignments and examinations.
- Meet administrative time lines and submit completed and required documents and reports.
- Maintain required student attendance and scholastic records.
- Participate in division staff meetings.
- Keep Student learning outcomes current and assess courses.
- Review of curriculum and assessment of student learning.
Instructors must also provide instruction in accordance with established course outlines and expectations; review curriculum and assess student learning; inform students about course requirements; prepare and grade assignments and examinations; meet administrative timelines and submit completed and required documents and reports; maintain required student attendance and scholastic records, and both communicate and work effectively with others.
Qualified candidates must possess a California State Insurance License AND
Education and Experience- Associate’s degree and six years (6) of professional experience in the related field OR
- Bachelor’s Degree and two years (2) professional experience in the related field.
All degrees must be from accredited institutions.
Additional Qualifications- Knowledge of teaching; multiple teaching methods which include critical thinking and problem-solving strategies; and college academic requirements and standards
