Location: McChord Air Force Base
Duties
* Manages the 627 Communications Squadron (CS) training program. Administers, develops, and implements the training program to ensure all personnel requiring training are trained in accordance with applicable AFIs and local guidance for military, AFP civilians, and contractors assigned to the 627 CS.
* Develops the 627 Communications Squadron training plan. Evaluates and reports to the Squadron Commander on the effectiveness of training.
* Manages training courses. Oversees classroom space, manages the announcement of upcoming classes, and ensures the completion of all training necessary to meet unit deploy ability requirements.
* Develops education and training materials and testing procedures.
* Directly assists the commander/director in the management of all administrative support program functions.
* Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs.
* Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel flight on military and civilian personnel issues. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Incumbent may be required to stand for several hours at a time while instructing in a classroom environment.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* Incumbent may be subject to work other than normal duty hours.
* Previous education and training experience is preferred.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the SPECIALIZED experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1712, Training Instruction Series. SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes practical knowledge of a wide range of conventional concepts, principles, and practices associated with training program management sufficient to independently develop, conduct, and evaluate difficult, but well-precedented formal and informal training programs;
Knowledge of service-based occupations and the associated training/certification requirements for military and civilian personnel assigned to the organization.

EDUCATION:
Successfully completed a masters or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D. [remove LL.B or J.D., if unrelated] with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

EDUCATION:
Less than the full amount of specialized experience described in A above; however, I have completed some graduate level education as described in B above. Therefore, I have a combination of experience as described in A and education as described in B above.

You must submit a copy of college transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE:
Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE,

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
* Knowledge of service-based programs and objectives, processes involved in military and civilian training programs, and/or processes relating to training programs in parallel business and industry organizations.
* Knowledge of the methods, principles, practices, and programs related to curriculum development, instructional techniques, and training resources, as well as the principles, techniques, and objectives of test and measurement.
* Knowledge of basic budget preparation as it applies to preparing operating and capital expenditure training budgets.
