The Role
As a Registered Cardiac Sonographer
, you’ll play a critical role in assessing cardiac function and supporting diagnosis through high‑quality cardiovascular ultrasound imaging. You will be responsible for performing echocardiograms, ensuring optimal image capture, preparing reports, and maintaining equipment in accordance with accreditation standards.
This position requires both technical excellence and compassionate patient interaction.
Your Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Cardiac Imaging & Patient Care- Perform diagnostic echocardiograms using established protocols and adapt techniques to patient needs
- Prepare patients by explaining procedures, obtaining history, and ensuring comfort and safety
- Document procedures and confirm accurate patient data in the EMR
- Sanitize transducers, exam beds, and cables daily
- Conduct weekly and monthly system backups, purges, and preventative maintenance
- Coordinate repairs with service technicians and verify functionality
- Log completed exams, record diagnostic codes, and maintain organized patient records
- Retrieve and prepare studies for physician review
- Assist in training new sonographers, students, and clinical staff
- Maintain required certifications and participate in continuing education
- Support lab accreditation and quality assurance standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinic staff to optimize workflow and patient outcomes
- Graduate of a CAAHEP‑ or CMA‑approved School of Diagnostic Ultrasound (or equivalent training per ICAEL standards)
- National Certification in echocardiography through ARDMS or CCI
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Prior experience in cardiology or specialty imaging
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care

Wage Range: $42.50 – $66.19 per hour
