Salary Range: $21.82 - $26.58 hourly

Closing Date: Open until filled, with Bi-Weekly Reviews

Position: Medical Assistant - certified (2 positions)

Reports To: Nursing Supervisor

Location: Colville Tribal Health Authority, Nespelem, WA

Basic Functions

This is a Non-Exempt position. The Medical Assistant for the Colville Tribal Healthcare Authority provides responsive, high quality health care services that meet the needs of all users at their assigned location. The Medical Assistant will perform their job duties in a professional manner while assuring that all the needs of the patients are met with a pleasant demeanor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Training:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or similar
  • HIPAA and Privacy training within 90 days of employment
  • Blood borne pathogen training annually
  • CPR/First Aid within initial 90 days of hire

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language
  • Ability to utilize RPMS and EHR proficiently
  • Ability to utilize a multi-line telephone with good telephone etiquette
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Well-developed human relation skills to convey technical concepts to others and to give instructions
  • Ability to communicate technical information and interact with a wide variety of groups and individuals inside and outside the organization
  • Planning, organization, and prioritization of work processes in a high-volume environment to meet schedules and timelines
  • Analyze data from multiple information sources by comparing and contrasting to draw conclusions or identify trends
  • Communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language
  • Initiate and be proactive to meet mandated deadlines and comply with goals and objectives

Note:

Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre‑employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

Tribal member and Indian preference will apply; preference will also be given to honorably discharged veterans who are minimally qualified.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre‑employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
