Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care at an assisted living facility located in Dayton, WA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver comprehensive nursing services tailored to the needs of elderly residents and individuals with complex health conditions. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of clinical expertise, including experience with long-term care, memory care, and acute pain management, ensuring the highest standards of safety, comfort, and health outcomes.
As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will coordinate patient assessments, administer treatments, and support residents' well-being in a dynamic environment that values compassion and professionalism.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to inform individualized care plans.
- Administer medications via various routes such as injections, IV infusions, and oral medications while adhering to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Manage complex clinical procedures including wound suturing, catheterization, ostomy care, and tube feeding.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop discharge plans, coordinate therapies such as botulinum toxin treatments or dialysis, and facilitate transitions of care.
- Monitor residents for acute pain or infectious disease symptoms and implement appropriate interventions promptly.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or Athenahealth.
- Support emergency response efforts by managing airway obstructions, ventilator support, or trauma situations in accordance with Level I Trauma Center standards.
- Educate residents and their families on health coaching topics such as medication management or chronic disease control.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain sterile processing standards throughout all procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration; additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities or long-term care environments; hospital or ICU experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Cerner or Athenahealth for medical documentation.
- Strong clinical skills across diverse specialties including geriatrics, behavioral health, cardiology (e.g., cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (e.g., ophthalmic assessments), and critical care procedures.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical terminology for accurate documentation.
- Experience working with patients who have disabilities or require memory care support.
- Ability to perform complex procedures such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively triage patient needs and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health incidents is advantageous.
