Supervisor Clinical Laboratory - Clinical Laboratory - PSJHC CLINICAL LAB at St Josephs Hospital-Chewelah

Schedule:

Part Time, Day Shift (10 hr weekday shifts with a Sunday 12 hr shift in a month & a reduced weekday schedule that corresponding week)

The position has responsibility for technical supervision of the hospital's laboratory. The position is responsible for assuring that work practices and procedures are performed to meet high quality standards of patient care and regulatory requirements. This responsibility includes both "working on the bench," performing analytical testing and supervising the activities of technical and non-technical personnel assigned to the laboratory, as well as overseeing the work activities of personnel rotating through the laboratory.

The position will assist with performance appraisals on assigned personnel. The position is responsible for the QC and QA activities in the laboratory. The position actively participates in hire/fire decisions and may initiate progressive discipline in consultation with the Laboratory Manager.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory or medical science field.

• Advanced education or certification in a laboratory specialty and/or graduate training in business/management training.

• Upon hire:
Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification

• Upon hire:
National Certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology, or

• Upon hire:
National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists, or

• Upon hire:
National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts, or

• Upon hire:
National Laboratory Tech - United States Government

• 5 years Laboratory experience.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
