Hourly Pay Rate: $40.52 - $44.74

Purpose Statement: The Human Resources Officer plays a pivotal role in our school district by managing critical HR functions and ensuring compliance with policies, fostering a positive workplace culture, and supporting the growth and development of our staff.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new employees, providing comprehensive information on payroll procedures and benefits packages.
  • Create and maintain accurate employee personnel files, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Manage State personnel records, including S-275 Highly Qualified documentation.
  • Maintain records of work-related and student injuries, and actively participate in safety committee activities.
  • Process a variety of documents (e.g., new hire packets, resignation and retirement packets, employee benefit information, teacher certification) to maintain accurate employee records for reporting and principal requests.
  • Collaborate with individuals and employee groups to facilitate efficient and successful hiring processes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of all current employees and vacancies.
  • Issue supplemental contracts to employees as needed.
  • Research and provide information, recommendations, and support for various administrative requirements.
  • Ensure regular attendance and prioritize the safety and health of students and staff.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to support the HR department's mission and goals.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality protocols.
  • Proficiency in office equipment and computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Clearance for WSP/FBI fingerprint background checks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, displaying a positive, pleasant, and cooperative demeanor when working with staff and the public.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including proficiency with WSIPC software, 10-key by touch, and Excel. Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, able to perform effectively during periods of high activity, interruptions, and stress.
  • Demonstrated record of personal integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a human resources role, particularly in an educational or public sector setting.
  • Familiarity with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Certification in HR management (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) software.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of HR.
Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

working under direct supervision using standardized routines; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job’s functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the Organization’s services.

Working Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 50% sitting, 20% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under some hazardous conditions.
