Tax Associate – Tax Associate

Join us at H&R Block to work as a Tax Associate. The role is focused on helping clients with their tax preparation while fostering professional growth and customer satisfaction.

• Conduct tax client interviews face‑to‑face or via virtual tools (video, phone, chat, email).
• Prepare accurate tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Grow the business by retaining clients and offering additional products and services.
• Provide IRS support and maintain professional knowledge.
• Collaborate with the office team to support priorities and meet customer needs.
• Continually improve your tax expertise through training and hands‑on experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Previous experience in a customer‑service or retail environment.
• Ability to work a minimum of 25–35 hours weekly during the tax season and up to 40 hours during peak weeks.

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Comfort using virtual tools (video, phone, chat, email).
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent or higher (if not holding a bachelor’s degree).
• Must meet all IRS and applicable state requirements.

$11.00 – $27.00 per hour. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay will depend on experience, education, skill, performance and geographic location of work.
