Annual Stipend: $1,675
Qualifications
- Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport/activity.
- Has substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport/activity and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
- Successful completion of fingerprint based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), sex offender and violent youth offender screening, and employment physical.
JOB GOAL: Instruct students in the fundamental skills, strategy and training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to acceptable character development, self discipline, self confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the students.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as an appropriate role model for students through his/her instructions and actions.
- Follows the District's approved policies.
- Has knowledge of existing systems and IESA regulations and consistently abides by them.
- Schedules events for the season, transportation and requirements for each event.
- Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times.
- Serves as a mentor to each student to promote the development and demonstration in character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
- Provides assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant by his/her presence at all practices games and while traveling.
- Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the activity/sport to each student who is considered a participant.
- Follows programs and policies concerning injuries, medical attention and emergencies.
- Completes paperwork on all injuries on proper forms and submits to district office within 24 hours.
