FLEET CONVERT-IN AND PROFESSIONAL APPRENTICE CAREER TRACK SAILOR OPPORTUNITIES FOR NAVY DIVERS AND EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL PROGRAMS

The Navy is offering opportunities for conversion to the Navy Diver (ND) and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) ratings. Applicant eligibility includes all rates and professional apprentice career track Sailors from E1 to E6.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- ND:
Underwater salvage, recovery, repair and maintenance on ships and submarines; search for and recover downed aircraft; conduct harbor clearance operations; saturation diving; hyperbaric research; support law‑enforcement agencies; rescue operations; demolition; small‑arms proficiency worldwide. - EOD:
Locate, identify, render safe and dispose of foreign and domestic ordnance (conventional, chemical, biological, nuclear, underwater, and terrorist devices); support operations with Carrier and Expeditionary Strike Groups, Mine Countermeasures, Naval Special Warfare, Army Special Forces; execute WMD/IMOD identification; provide training to military and civilian agencies; maintain and repair specialized EOD equipment; perform open and closed‑circuit diving, explosive demolition, parachuting, and tactical deployment methods.
