A Digital Training Facility (DTF) is a computer lab located on Army installations and Reserve sites worldwide which provides management and oversight for the assigned DTF.
This DoD/Military Sector Role is a W-2 Employee Labor Category Position located at or near Fort Lewis, WA - CONUS | AC/RC: AC | ACOM: FORSCOM.
Responsibilities- Shall schedule and manage the use of Digital Training Facilities (DTF’s) and provide hands-on assistance to the Enterprise Management System (EMS) staff for their location.
- Take a leading role in operating required hands-on equipment and recording on-site operations for the project.
- Support oversight of the assigned DTF following EMS directions to replace monitors, desktops, and servers and verify operation of hardware and software in the DTFs.
- Maintain facility security, operate equipment, and assist students in using assets provided in DTFs.
- Monitor and report the condition and inventory of IT hardware, desks, chairs, and other furniture at site locations.
- Collaborate with other entities to create secure lab environments.
- Perform hands-on operation and on-site activities as required.
- Provide metrics and reports to designated Management, Section Leadership, and Stakeholder Staff.
- Provide server and application support and maintenance; ensure superior customer interactions on behalf of the DTF.
- Report the operational status of the DTF(s) to the appropriate chain of command and the Distributed Learning Point of Contact (DL-POC).
- Schedule the use of DTFs and provide hands-on assistance to the Army Training Information System (ATIS) Product Manager (PdM) and EMS staff; schedule training in coordination with Soldiers and the DL-POC.
- 5 years of management experience within the realm of IT support and/or management (Required).
- Ability to analyze and evaluate trainees to summarize, forecast, identify requirements, screen information, determine eligibility, and provide solutions to challenges.
- Strong oral and written communication for coordinating training sessions and preparing clear, concise reports and presentations.
- Bachelor degree (preferably computer science, information systems, information technology, computer engineering or related).
- U.S. Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (This employer participates in the e-Verify program).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe).
- All staff must be eligible for a Facility Access Authorization (Employment Authorization) by the USG’s designated Security Office.
- Other Requirements and Conditions of Employment Apply; may be required to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement and undergo varying levels of background checks, up to Top Secret or "Q" clearance.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies; strong computer hardware and software skills (including Microsoft server, Windows desktop management, and printing management solutions).
- Project/process management with the ability to define, monitor, and report on projects.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; strong oral and written communication including technical writing.
