SUMMARYWorks closely With Applications Administrator and County departments to determine information technology requirements and monitors computer applications to ensure they are receiving adequate resources and meeting implementation goals. Coordinates I.S. project schedules with County Departments and application vendors, analyzes system change requests, determines resource implications and provides leadership in new initiatives and strategic direction.

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Individual~ assigned to this classification are expected to perform independently a wide diversity of complex work activities under infrequent supervision, typically in the form of conferences with Elected Officials/Department Heads to review the information
-processing needs of the department and to develop design specifications, project schedules and budgets. - Assists in providing analysis and assessment of department needs for outside application software programs.
- Coordinates the preparation of Request for Proposals (RFP), sets up vendor demonstrations of new software, and coordinates schedules for new system installations.
- Coordinate with network operations and desktop support personnel regarding application installations, data security, system updates/modifications, and coordinating solutions for computer and application operation problems.
- Assist the Applications Administrator and IS Director in development of strategic plans and new initiatives.
- Evaluate and review new system solutions including application software/hardware selection.
- Plan, implement, manage, monitor and upgrade the County's website while maintaining appropriate website content aligned to the County's strategy.
- Coordinate with County departments, assisting with the development, training, configuration and maintenance of individual departmental webpages.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, IT, statistics or a related field is required.
- Two-years’ experience in technical desktop support at an enterprise-wide level.
- Demonstrated multidisciplinary communication skills across all levels of an organization, but particularly with business-unit executives.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the applicant and the County with the necessary attributes for this position will be considered.
- Technical proficiency on the County’s written Tech III exam (minimum score 70%)
- Technical proficiency on the County’s practical Tech III exam (minimum score 70%)
- Valid Washington State driver’s license.
- Criminal history background check results are a condition of employment. Records will be considered based on the requirements of RCW 9.96A.020, WAC 162-12 and WAC 446-20.
- Meets required qualifications of Computer Support Specialist Grade III
- Served a minimum of three years as a Computer Support Specialist Grade III
- Complete a minimum of five (5) professional education courses in the Computer Desktop Support Field in the past three (3) years.
- Be recommended for advancement by the Director, Information Services Dept
Knowledge of:
- Basic methods and techniques of providing information technology support, maintenance and administration including areas such as software/hardware installation, troubleshooting and testing.
- Basic principles of electricity, electronics, telephony systems, data communications and computer programming.
