Benefit Analyst in the Employee Benefits team responsible for maintaining client relationships and managing assigned book of business with Producers and Account Managers. Primary duties include medical plan marketing services, claims experience reporting, budget projection analysis, and technical support.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as medical analytical subject matter expert in strategy meetings.
- Create and update claims experience reporting models, providing analysis and commentary.
- Build projection models for self‑funded clients.
- Lead the Medical Market Analysis process, developing strategy, analyzing results, negotiating with carriers.
- Address carrier questions and advise on benefit strategy.
- Include dental and vision market analyses as needed.
- Analyze benefits and claims data for inclusion in market analysis.
- Manage carrier & vendor bids, follow up on submissions.
- Conduct claims analysis and contribution modeling.
- Interpret census data for accuracy.
- Review insurance bids for compliance and maintain client databases.
- Create and update internal systems and templates for strategy and marketing.
- Submit peer reviews of reports and analyses.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Effective oral and written communication with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of self‑funded plans and ability to explain mechanics.
- Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills; experience with project management and database software preferred.
- Desire to learn and grow within insurance industry.
- Confidence and ability to interact with all levels of organization.
- Strong team collaboration and coaching skills.
- Proficiency in calculations for discounts, interests, commissions, percentages.
- Ability to analyze professional journals and regulatory documents.
- Problem‑solving skills and initiative to evaluate options.
- Prioritize and organize multiple tasks for timely completion.
- High School or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–4 years related experience or equivalent education/experience.
- Valid Life & Health Insurance Agent license, or obtain within 120 days of employment.

The expected salary range for this position is $35.00–$48.00 hourly. We also offer comprehensive benefits packages including health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA, 401(k), PTO and bonuses.
