Position

Assistant Director of Healthcare Services (ADON) – Halcyon House

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the DON for nursing leadership across Long-Term Care, Skilled, and Memory-Care areas
• Orientate, train, and provide ongoing training and supervision to employees
• Assist in evaluating healthcare services needed for each resident
• Serve as liaison for staff shift transitions
• Plan, develop, and oversee staffing schedules
• Schedule and conduct in-services meetings for staff
• Prepare and participate in surveys and inspections by government agencies
• Partner with the DON for nursing operation efficiencies
• Oversee infection control program and reporting
• Communicate with physicians and family members regarding resident status as appropriate
• Participate in quality improvement activities
• Audit skills of nursing staff

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Iowa, graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a geriatric or long-term care setting
• Knowledgeable of state and federal regulations, quality assurance, compliance, and clinical practices
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills to develop/supervise nursing personnel in a team environment
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and skilled in effective delegation
