Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and rigorously enforce a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) tailored to the specific requirements of the government contract.
- Assume full authority and responsibility for ensuring all contract performance objectives and standards are consistently met or exceeded.
- Maintain a direct reporting line to a senior corporate official, ensuring independent quality oversight and decision‑making separate from the Project Manager.
- Maintain a consistent on‑site presence during the government’s regular working hours to actively monitor and manage quality operations.
- Lead the identification, documentation, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address quality issues.
- Conduct regular quality audits, inspections, and reviews to identify potential risks, non‑conformances, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit all required quality‑related documentation, reports, and certifications to both internal stakeholders and the government client.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement within the QMS and overall contract performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance, quality systems, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 5–8 years of experience in quality management or a closely related industry.
- Must possess a current CMQ/OE (Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) certification.
- Experience in preparing, implementing, and enforcing QMS programs on government contracts of similar size, scope, and complexity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex quality concepts to diverse audiences.
- Available and able to return to the contract site within two hours of a government request made outside of regular working hours.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
- A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
- Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ‑compliant driver’s license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military , in accordance with the REAL (see https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E‑Verify will be conducted for this position.
