Join Lassonde Pappas & Company, Inc. as a Cold Room Attendant – 2nd Shift.

Position Summary

The position is responsible for the successful operation of the cold room and drumming.

Shift Details

Shift: 2nd – 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Role in Safe Quality Food (SQF).
  • When finished loading out the tanker, the attendant must inspect the filter screen (CCP#2) for any foreign material and note findings on QA document. If FM is found or the screen is damaged, the Production Supervisor, QA, Shipping Coordinator and Manufacturing Manager must be immediately notified.
  • Follow all Sun Rype Food Safety guidelines and Personal Health, Hygiene and GMP’s.
  • Properly clean, prepare, line, fill, weigh, close, and palletize drums.
  • Load refers.
  • Load tankers and set up the pipework to transfer the juice accurately to avoid cross contamination.
  • Understand the PIG system.
  • Conduct proper cleaning and sanitation of cold room.
  • Drive forklift.
Job Requirements
  • Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Must be able to carry 25 pounds up and down 21 stairs. Must be able to stand for 8 hours during a shift minus breaks and lunch. Must be able to work in hot, humid and/or cold conditions. Must be able to stand, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, reach above shoulders, climb ladders and crawl in tight and awkward workplaces for long periods of time.

    Must have good hand‑eye coordination.

    Physical Requirements:

    Education:

    High school diploma or GED preferred.

    Experience:

    Minimum one year experience as a Drumming/Cold Room Attendant operator preferred.
  • Special

    Skills:

    Able to work any shift, overtime and any or all days of the week in accordance with plant needs. Knowledge and awareness of proper lifting techniques. Knowledge and awareness of chemicals used for CIP and proper PPI while using them. Knowledge and proper use of lock‑out/tag‑out procedures. Knowledge of electrical panels and cords while using water. Excellent communication skills. Superb organizational skills and attention to detail.

    None required.
  • External Relationships:
    None.
  • Internal Relationships:
    The Drumming/Cold Room Operator must interact and communicate effectively with all employees of the organization.

    There are no direct or indirect reports.
  • Backup:
    Backup for Drumming/Cold Room Attendant would be Drumming/Cold Room Lead.
