Assembly Mechanic - Weekday Day Shift or Weekday Night Shift - Algona
Precision Castparts is seeking an Assembly Mechanic for weekday day or night shifts in Algona. The successful candidate will assemble and fabricate major assembly structures such as doors, mechanisms, and structural subassemblies including rudders, flaps, and stabilizers. Responsibilities include aligning parts on jigs, performing part‑fitting operations (filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, riveting, drilling, reaming), measuring parts with micrometers and calipers, modifying assemblies, and verifying quality through statistical process control.

Align parts using jigs, templates, and fixtures; perform minor part‑fitting operations; measure and verify dimensions; modify assemblies to incorporate changes; monitor and verify quality per statistical process or other control procedures.
Reporting StructureThe Assembly Mechanic reports to the Associate Assembly Operations Manager.
Shift Schedules- Monday–Friday: 6:00 am–2:30 pm
- Monday–Friday: 2:30 pm–11:00 pm (includes $2.50 per hour shift differential)
- Lay out parts per Manufacturing Orders and drawings; verify quantities and instructions.
- Pull and replace tools, jigs, templates, and fixtures for setups.
- Package and box assemblies for shipment per work orders and customer specifications.
- Operate designated machines and hand tools as required or instructed by supervision.
- Familiarize with Primus Assembly Processes, Procedures, and applicable Business Quality Management System (BQMS) procedures.
- Riveting, nut‑plate installations, bonding, bushing and bearing installations (under supervision).
- Blueprint reading and basic math skills.
- General Tier II level aerospace assembly concepts and procedures.
- Familiarity with computer‑based MRP data entry.
- Manual dexterity with ability to maintain close tolerances.
- Proficiency with a variety of manufacturing tools and measuring devices.
- Basic English language skills; ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions.
- Professional communication and cooperative teamwork.
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Entry level to 1 year of experience.
Hourly pay range: $20.00 to $39.75 USD, based on experience and performance. Eligible for the company’s quarterly cash bonus plan (1X the bonus multiple). Employees receive 120 hours paid time off per year, 10 paid holidays, health (medical, dental, vision), basic life insurance, and can enroll in the company’s 401(k) plan.
