Description

At Shredfast Inc., a Hydraulics Technician - Tier 1 is an entry-level hydraulics position. This position reports to the Hydraulics lead and is responsible for prepping hydraulics parts, keeping all work areas clean, and performing basic hydraulic install functions on mobile truck builds. This position must work closely with the hydraulics staff and other Shredfast employees and must be effective and diligent in following instructions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collecting and grouping components together for preparation
• Cleaning work areas
• Preparing components for final assembly according to documentation
• Working on other equipment as assigned by department lead
• Building and installing hose assemblies
• Installing components on equipment in production
• Knowledge and adherence to build techniques used in assembly of Shredfast hydraulic controls
• Must know how to use hand tools including drills, grinders and sanders in a safe and effective manner
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2 years in a mechanical trade with knowledge of hydraulic systems preferred
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
• Self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be detail-oriented and thorough in following procedures
• Able to work independently and/or under supervision with other employees
• Must have reliable transportation for work commute
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when moving heavy items such as hydraulic tanks and hose kits, and be able to sit, stand, crouch and kneel
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Tools are provided
