Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist III is part of the provider care team who helps with diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions through the use of technical and scientific knowledge. This position is responsible for accurate, precise, and timely performance of laboratory tests, functioning as the lead technologist in the supervisor’s absence. The technologist evaluates and reports test results while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, consistently maintaining the quality of a world‑class laboratory and delivering excellent customer service in line with Mercy Signature Service.

Location: Mercy Hospital Washington, 901 E 5th Street, Washington, MO 63090
Schedule: Full‑time, 40 hours/week (6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday) with on‑call rotation every 5th weekend.

Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Up to 3 years or more of acceptable clinical laboratory experience; functions as a leader in laboratory operations.
Certifications: Current certification as medical technologist/medical laboratory scientist or categorical MT/MLS certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent. If ASCP certification was achieved after January 1, 2004, continuing certification maintenance must be documented to ensure continuous and current certification.
