Job Summary
The Human Resource Generalist supports the day-to-day People and administrative operations of Clemco. This role ensures accurate execution of core people functions including recruiting, onboarding, payroll adjustments, benefits administration, FMLA and leave management, employee relations support, and general office coordination. The HR Generalist is a hands‑on role, balancing transactional processes with relationship‑building, and plays a critical part in maintaining smooth operations and a positive employee experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage recruiting process, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and coordination with staffing agencies.
- Oversee temporary staffing needs and maintain relationships with agencies.
- Conduct background checks, drug tests, and pre‑employment screenings.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding, orientation, and system set‑up.
- Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and monthly reconciliations.
- Coordinate FMLA, short‑term disability, and other leave requests.
- Maintain personnel records and HRIS data integrity.
- Draft and update job descriptions, corrective action documents, and employee communications.
- Coordinate employee events, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives.
- Track employee milestones (birthdays, anniversaries, service awards).
- Conduct and summarize exit interviews; provide insights to leadership.
- Manage ordering of office supplies, snacks, and other facility‑related items.
- Coordinate vendors for office cleaning, supplies, and equipment services.
- Provide support for visitor hosting and meeting logistics.
- Assist with employee relations, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Prepare HR reports (headcount, turnover, recruiting metrics, etc.).
- Support HR projects such as process improvements and system upgrades.
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 3+ years of HR generalist/manager experience, ideally in manufacturing or related environment.
- Strong knowledge of recruiting, benefits administration, and leave management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Comfortable working independently and exercising judgment in day‑to‑day decisions.
- Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Strong service orientation and ability to support employees and leaders at all levels.
- Proactive problem‑solving and continuous improvement mindset.
