Responsibilities
We are hiring a Materials Handler to become an integral part of our team in Washington, MO. The Materials Handler will safely move materials using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. This role ensures production has the necessary supplies, assists with inventory tasks and maintains a clean and organized space.
Key Responsibilities- Safely load, unload and transport materials using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Pull and stage materials accurately for the production line based on work orders and production schedules
- Perform inventory counts and maintain accurate records to ensure inventory levels are correct
- Receive, inspect and organize incoming materials and store them in designated areas
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including dock and loading areas
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, company procedures and proper equipment operation standards
- Assist with preparing finished products for shipment
- Perform daily cleaning tasks surrounding the Oberlin machines
- Maintain 6S standards in the Oberlin rooms and support the overall 6S system
- Empty swarf hoppers on the production floor as needed and keep hopper bins lightly saturated during the shift
- Perform weekly pressure washer cleaning of grinders and motor faces
- Assist in Oberlin pit cleanouts in a confined space under varying weather conditions
- Perform other duties as requested
Pay Rate: $19.63 per hour
Shift/
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday 8a‑4p
- Basic computer skills
- Proficient with basic hand tools
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Proficient in forklift operation with ability to obtain a forklift license
- Physical ability to lift, carry and move materials
- Understanding of basic inventory management principles
- Commitment to safety protocols and a safe work environment
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and shipping orders
- Ability to work a full‑time 40‑hour schedule and overtime as required
- Must be able to stand, crouch, kneel and work overhead for periods exceeding 4 hours
- Meeting specific vision requirements (e.g., close/distance vision, depth perception, color‑adjustment ability)
- 2+ years of experience as a forklift operator (required)
- 1+ year of material management experience (preferred)
