We are currently accepting applications for a CNC Apprentice (you must be enrolled in the Four Rivers program) to operate computer numerical control machines and conventional machines to fabricate parts. Under the mentorship of a Lead Machinist, the Apprentice will load parts into machines, run cycles, detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools, run production lots, communicate with co‑workers regarding production runs, and maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.

The apprentice supports Sonaca North America's Quality Policy, Mission Statement, and other policies and procedures, contributing to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on‑time delivery, safety, teamwork, individual accountability, and respect for people.

Pay is $18/hour while in the apprenticeship program.

• Run production on CNC machining center
• Check and monitor the parts being run
• Read basic dimensions and tolerances on a blueprint
• Ensure quality standards are being met
• Produce the proper amount of parts per machine cycle time
• Deburr and blend all parts that are machined
• Perform daily maintenance on machines, including maintaining fluid levels, emptying chips, wiping down machine to remove coolant, dust and debris
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Complete paperwork properly and maintain documentation as necessary
• Attend on time and be consistently present

• Current Four Rivers Student

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Work in noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor, including eye, ear, and foot protection
• May occasionally lift or move items up to 10–50 pounds
