Position Summary:

Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Washington, NC, is seeking an organized and proactive individual to manage all administrative, office, and financial support functions for the parish. This key role is also responsible for coordinating the parish calendar, assisting with liturgical celebration planning, managing various church projects, and leading and supporting the parish's faith formation programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Financial and Administrative Support:
    Serve as the primary liaison with the diocese financial department, manage bank deposits for incoming funds, and maintain the parish database.
  • Faith Formation and Sacramental Records:
    Lead and organize faith formation programs and assist with the processing and maintenance of all sacramental records.
  • Communication and Outreach:
    Manage the parish calendar, promote parish events, and lead the parish's social media presence. This includes creative efforts for event decoration.
  • Parish and Project Coordination:
    Track and report on the status of ongoing parish projects and activities. Facilitate communication and coordination among various parish groups and attend necessary meetings.
  • Facility and Operational Assistance:
    Provide support for the management and oversight of parish facilities and repairs.
  • Instruction:
    Teach preparation classes as needed.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent level of education.
  • 0−1 year of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (able to read, write, and speak proficiently).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience and a friendly demeanor when interacting with people.
  • Openness and willingness to learn new tasks and skills.
  • Professional demeanor reflective of the values and mission of the Diocese of Raleigh.
  • Successful completion of criminal background and reference checks is a condition of employment.
  • Completion of Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training is required upon hire.
