Job Description Summary

Full time 9 month position with the A.D.N program.

The chosen candidate will have teaching responsibilities in clinical, lab, and classroom settings. The chosen candidate will work with seasoned faculty to mentor students transitioning into the nursing program and will assist with student success strategies that are aimed towards professionalism, retention, and progression.

Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from a regionally accredited institution with an agreement to enroll and complete an accredited MSN program within five years of hire.

Work Experience

Required:

A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience and a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina.

Preferred Qualifications Education Requirements

Preferred:
Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution.

Work Experience
  • Medical-surgical, home health, long-term care, or intermediate level nursing care.
  • Preferred:
    Post-secondary teaching experience.

Clinical assignments include one to two days of clinical, typically during day shift hours. However, evening and night clinical can be considered if it meets the learning objectives of the course.

Lab and theory instruction occurs on the BCCC campus. Theory is primarily delivered in the classroom environment, but may include virtual instruction, based on program needs.

If the chosen candidate does not have teaching experience, they will receive preparation in teaching and learning principles, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, as required by the NC Board of Nursing. The individual will also participate in:
Course and curriculum design, development of student learning outcomes, evaluation of curriculum, college committees, advising and registering of nursing students, maintaining office hours, and fulfill all the duties and responsibilities of BCCC faculty.

The chosen candidate will be peer mentored by an experienced faculty member to ensure continuity of program outcomes and a smooth transition into the faculty role.
