Overview
Operations Manager role s position is onsite in Washington, North Carolina and reports to the Global Operations Director.
EssentialJob Duties And Responsibilities
- Actively Analyze Key Performance Indicators for operation and adjust/implement lean manufacturing and quality processes and systems leveraging ITW Toolbox – PLS, 80/20, etc., and related world class manufacturing improvement techniques to achieve operational excellence and optimal P&L improvement.
- Direct operational strategies to continuously deliver exceptional customer service.
- Drive improvements in customer-facing metrics (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and deliver best-in-class operations around production efficiency and safety. Drive continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
- Champion the ITW Leadership Development framework, developing talent within the location. Identify and develop key leaders for future roles.
- Manage direct reports to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness.
- Provide visible leadership on the production floor to maintain accountability, morale, and a professional work environment.
- Support new product development and modifications with engineering support for design, process, and validation functions.
- Lead, develop, and implement policies and procedures that support and drive annual plan and long-range plan (LRP).
- Direct the resolution of operational, quality, and maintenance issues to ensure effective cost management and prevention of delays.
- Analyze productivity and capacity utilization, including outside processing.
- Ensure specified standards of production output and quality are maintained in line with production schedules.
- Supervise, hire, evaluate performance, and maintain morale and effectiveness within the workforce; exercise supervision both directly and on a delegated basis.
- Recommend capital expenditures for new equipment, including justification data and evaluation of equipment capabilities.
- Review and modify or scrap molds, machines, and tooling to address production problems through appropriate approvals.
- Consult with Manufacturing, Sales, Pricing, and Project Engineering teams to resolve quality, cost, or major order issues of a sensitive nature.
- Attend production and quality meetings; review and address product quality complaints and take corrective actions.
- Prepare a Production operating budget for review and incorporation into the divisional budget; monitor conformance to budget and review variance statements to identify improvements.
- Keeps up to date on developments, processes, materials, and equipment in plastics and assemblies.
- Resolve personnel problems in coordination with supervisors and Human Resources in accordance with policies and procedures.

- Education/
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business/Engineering or Technical concentration or equivalent ITW experience;
Master’s degree a plus. - Minimum 5 years of management experience leading large, growing lean manufacturing operations.
- Injection molding experience a plus; medical industry experience a plus.
- Ability to develop performance levels to achieve operational excellence; strong time management, prioritization, and project management skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies; strong business analytics with an 80/20 mindset.
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting, sales, and business development.
- Proven ability to improve efficiency with operational plans; ability to manage complexity and change; decisive leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; experience with remote staff.
- Ability to earn respect and trust, collaborate with colleagues, and create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated and able to motivate others; ability to identify and develop future leaders/managers.
- Willing to travel; primarily domestic and occasionally worldwide.
This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate based on experience and education. Pay range: $120,000 - $155,000 annual salary plus 15% AIP bonus eligibility.
