Position Summary Information

Full-time 12 month staff position reports to the Vice President of Administrative Services. This position will plan and direct the operations of facilities/grounds, bookstore, and mail room functions of the College. Under limited supervision, this position will exercise initiative and independent judgment in performance of assigned responsibilities. This position requires flexibility and receptivity to changing technologies, methods, processes, and organizational structure and practices.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in a technical field with a minimum of 3 years experience in facility maintenance management or construction management or related field.
  • Employee supervision experience.
  • Basic office computer skills with word documents and spreadsheets.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in engineering, construction, or related technical field with a minimum of 3 years experience in facility maintenance management in an industrial, college, or school system.
  • Experience with energy management, computer-based maintenance management systems, building automation systems, basic building maintenance, and project scheduling.
  • Experience and familiarity with purchasing and contracts.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise the activities of the Campus Operations Departments including facilities and grounds, bookstore, and mail room.
  • Provide assistance to internal and external stakeholders regarding maintenance activities, processes, policies and procedures.
  • Provides advice and support for supervisors and administration related to proper resource management.
  • Oversee the Campus Operations budgets. Utilize the College Information System (CIS), Informer, and Asset Essentials Maintenance System to facilitate Campus Operations related processes and reporting.
  • Manage insurance and risk management of the College.
  • Supervise and manage external contracts for the college including, but not limited to, food service, facility leases, and vending.
  • Assist the Vice President of Administration with the administration of new construction and major renovations.
  • Perform special projects for but not limited to, facilities utilization and restructuring and preparation of reports for the Board of Trustees.
  • Assist the Vice President of Administration with maintaining compliance with OSHA and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Interpret and promote consistent application of policies and procedures in a manner which supports the College’s mission, vision and values as well as local, state and federal regulations. Review and recommend revisions to policies and procedures when needed.
  • Answer requests for information from employees, administration, outside agencies, and the public.
