Job Description

ITW Medical, a division of ITW, is comprised of two highly respected brands—Coeur and Filtertek—supplying critical filtration and flow control solutions to global OEMs, serving surgical, infusion, bioprocessing and diagnostic imaging end markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up injection molding machines in anticipation of the molding process, ensuring correct parameters are set for the specific part being molded.
  • Configure molds, dies, etc., to conform to scheduled requirements, including leaving the workstation clean and organized and minimizing downtime.
  • Clear the production line of previous product materials, tools, and instructions, preparing it for the new part.
  • Perform mold cleaning according to schedule and as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  • Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance on production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and solve minor molding process conditions (short shots, flash, burns, etc.) to ensure quality and prevent non‑conformance.
  • Setup and operate molding machinery and support equipment.
  • Adjust, maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment to maximize utilization.
  • Work closely with setup technicians and operators to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Collaborate with plant leaders to stop the molding process due to quality concerns.
  • Complete necessary paperwork timely and accurately; record use of spare parts to maintain inventory.
  • Follow setup sheets, record any changes, and provide suggestions to process engineers.
  • Train new/current technicians to increase machine knowledge.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and organization of the production floor.
  • Follow all safety guidelines.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant manufacturing experience in a plastic injection molding environment preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years related basic problem‑solving and processing skills in injection molding and automation equipment.
  • Exposure to scientific injection molding process monitoring methodology preferred.
  • Understanding of injection molding machine(s) and auxiliary equipment operations and repair preferred.
  • Understanding of robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and/or electric systems for both relay and solid‑state machinery preferred.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication both written and verbal skills; must possess mechanical aptitude and ability to adapt and learn.
  • Familiarity with robots.
  • Understanding of OSHA requirements (e.g., lockout/tagout, forklift).
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes overtime and weekends.
  • Must have ability to provide own basic tools (Allen wrenches, socket sets, etc.).
Physical Requirements
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand for full manufacturing shift; reach with arms extended and/or overhead; excellent hand dexterity; bend, stoop, stretch and similar activities.
  • Accommodate occasional flexible schedule when required.
  • Safely operate required equipment for performing job functions.
