RN Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist
The Perianesthesia RN applies the nursing process to individuals and familes of all ages experiencing alterations in health status associated with sedation/anesthetic interventions. The Perianesthesia RN’s scope includes, but is not limited to, the preadmission assessment/process, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (Phase
1), Phase 2 recovery/discharge. The position includes postoperative follow-up to include the management of patients undergoing moderate sedation and assisting in procedures as required. Requires excellent critical thinking, communication and Perianesthesia specific skills and practices consistent with ASPAN and AORN standards.
** Weekend Duty / Holiday Rotation**
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
A minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in PACU in an acute care setting, current Emergency Room experience will be considered if a training position is posted. Current moderate sedation experience required or Moderate sedation certification required within three (3) months of hire. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN license in Washington.
BSN and CPAN or CAPA certification strongly preferred, additional compensation available. Must maintain active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
