Overview
Universal Care Partner Position, Mustard Seed Village. We are offering a $600 hiring bonus. We’re looking for someone to provide care for the Elders living at the Mustard Seed Village and to adhere to and convey the Mustard Seed Village's philosophy of Elder centered living.
About Us
Since 2007, the Mustard Seed Project has worked to build an elder-friendly Key Peninsula where our elders can age in place with dignity and respect. Our mission is to ensure choices for healthy aging on the Key Peninsula by connecting seniors with innovative programs and resources. A nonprofit organization, 120 volunteers help us provide transportation, friendly visitors, information & referral, health & wellness classes, and education.
Mustard Seed Village is an assisted living and memory care home for those elders who need supportive housing. It is located across the street from our senior center.
- Adhere to policies and procedures while providing assistance in the following areas at the Mustard Seed Village: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene and nail care; incontinence care or toileting assistance; positioning, transferring and ambulation; assisting with medications and treatments as assigned.
- Escort Elders to activities of choice and meals.
- Report observations of changes in an Elder's physical or mental well-being to the Nurse.
- Demonstrate knowledge of infection control via proper handling of equipment, soiled linen, and adequate hand-washing.
- Assist with preparing and serving meals as assigned.
- Provide laundry and housekeeping services to Elders, including change of bed linens, as assigned.
- Maintain competency regarding fire, missing persons and other emergency policy and procedures.
- Assist the Activities Coordinator in planning, preparation and execution of in-house activities and outside excursions.
- Demonstrate awareness of and compliance with HIPAA.
- Answer the telephone after hours in a polite and courteous manner. Record messages in writing and file appropriate inquiry forms for the Guide to follow up on the next business day.
- Based in our Mustard Seed Village in Key Center; works closely with the Nurse and the staff team at the Village and Crandall Center.
- Availability for 40 hours per week.
- Shifts available:
Day 6 am to 2 pm, Evening 2 pm to 10 pm, and NOC 10 pm to 6 am. - Attendance and participation in training, in-service and staff meetings.
- Education/
Skills:
Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, time management, and ability to multitask. - Memory Care experience is desirable.
- CNA or HCA certification required.
- Qualification as a Med Tech or desire to qualify.
- Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Food Handler's card.
- Ability to care for, interest, motivate and interact with the diverse range of individuals living in our homes.
- Current driver's license and insurance.
- Background check mandatory.
- Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally lift for daily activities.
- High school graduate (minimum).
- Applicant will be based in Mustard Seed Village, Key Center.
- Pro-rated sick time and vacation based on hours worked.
- Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
