Join to apply for the Veterinary Extern - Equine role at NVA Equine.
An externship experience at an NVA Equine hospital provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in an independent equine practice and understand the daily operations of an equine hospital.
Students will work alongside veterinarians and interns to gain experience in:
- Lameness diagnosis and treatment
- Client communication skills
- Reproductive care
- Surgery
- Emergency medicine
- Imaging
- Ambulatory services
- Dentistry
- Preventive medicine
Students may also assist with outpatient and hospitalized cases during business hours and after-hours emergencies.
Externships are available for current veterinary students regardless of class year, with a preference for fourth-year students.
Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. to view stipend amounts and HERE for stipend program details.
