FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable income and enjoy a flexible schedule.

Occupancy verification is periodic updates on properties sent by mortgage lenders. The purpose is to verify property occupancy and report the general condition using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after vacancy.

• Complete inspections within 4 days of assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops within the assigned territory.
• Most common inspections take 5–6 minutes.

• Computer with internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle; good gas mileage is a plus (you pay for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This 1099 position pays a flat rate per inspection. Equivalent pay ranges from $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county and volume, you could complete 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. No set minimum; workload is consistent month‑to‑month. Earnings increase with experience, availability, or larger territory coverage. No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
