Location: Clallam Bay
Overview
Correctional Officer 1 (CO1) positions are available at Clallam Bay Correction Center (CBCC) and Olympic Correction Center (OCC) in Washington. Both full‑time and on‑call roles are offered. Virtual interviews will be conducted on January 8, 13, 15, 22, and 29. Successful candidates will attend the earliest available Training Academy.
Salary Information- CO1 (TEAMSTERS Range 45 Step J‑M)
- Full‑time: $6,046 – $6,512 per month
- On‑call/Hourly: $34.75 – $37.43 per hour
- CO2 (TEAMSTERS Range 48 Step H‑M)
- Full‑time: $6,200 – $7,013 per month
- On‑call/Hourly: $35.63 – $40.30 per hour
- One year of experience as a DOC Corrections and Custody Officer, having completed the CORE Academy and the Correctional Officer Field Training Program.
- OR one year of experience as a Correctional Officer in adult or juvenile corrections with duties equivalent to a DOC Corrections and Security Officer 2.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Legal right to carry a firearm.
- Pre‑employment drug testing and psychological evaluation requirement.
- Ensure safety and security in the institution.
- Control and monitor inmate movement in‑and‑out of the facility.
- Maintain confinement environments and provide positive role modeling to inmates.
- Use interpersonal and communication skills to correct criminal thinking.
- Complete the DOC Worker Core training and ongoing on‑the‑job training.
- Perform duties required for overtime as necessary.
- Work an average of 32‑40 hours per week; no minimum hour guarantee.
- Required to attend six weeks of full‑time paid training immediately upon hire.
- Eligible for full‑time permanent or temporary vacancies when available.
- Benefits (medical, dental, vision, retirement, sick leave, holiday pay, vacation) apply to on‑call staff working at least 20 hours per week.
- Note:

- Clallam Bay Correction Center (CBCC) – 900‑bed male facility on the Olympic Peninsula, 50 miles west of Port Angeles. Medium/close custody and an Intensive Management Unit.
- Olympic Correction Center (OCC) – 381‑bed male facility near the Hoh Rainforest. Minimum‑security custody with treatment, work, and vocational programs.
- Both facilities operate 24/7, 7 days a week.
