Seasonal Carpenter – National Park Service
The National Park Service is hiring a Seasonal Carpenter for temporary positions up to 1039 hours per service year. Employment periods typically begin in March and continue through April, depending on funding, weather, and visitation.

Stehekin, WA - Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area:
Davenport, WA - Yosemite National Park:
Yosemite, CA - Mount Rainier National Park:
Longmire, WA
- Perform construction, alteration, installation, repair, and modification of structures and framework.
- Serve as an inspector on outside contracts and work performed by workers below journeyman level.
- Repair doors, windows, wood substitute items, exterior siding, flooring, and interior fabric to ensure stability and structural integrity.
- Fabricate duplicate replacements of deteriorated wood members such as molding, beams, timbers, and stairways.
The role requires standing, stooping, bending, ladder and scaffold work, overhead reaching, and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds (up to 80 pounds for those assigned to Yosemite).
Working ConditionsWork is conducted indoors and outdoors, exposed to moderate or high noise, saw dust, glue fumes, and other hazards. Protective devices such as earplugs, safety glasses, respirators, and gloves are required.
Requirements- U.S. citizenship required.
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- Male applicants must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirements.
- Direct deposit eligibility required.
- Valid State driver's license; may need to operate a government or private vehicle.
- Uniform compliance required; allowance provided.
- On-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, shift work, and occasional travel may be required.
- Minimum age 18 (or 16 with high school completion or vocational training).
- Ability to perform the work with minimal supervision (screen out).
- Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of materials.
