Qualifications
- Strong diagnostic and repair abilities for diesel engines, small engines (chainsaws), hydraulic systems, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Preventative maintenance proficiency including fluids & filters, brake systems, and engine maintenance.
- Must maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
- Adaptability and comfort working in remote or uncertain conditions.
- Comfort level with computers, and computer-based diagnostics.
- CDL class A or B strongly preferred.
- Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
- WA Boaters license a plus.
- Perform periodic inspections on all equipment and vehicles.
- Track maintenance tasks, schedules, and costs using fleet management software.
- Diagnose and repair breakdowns efficiently.
- Complete field repairs as needed, including travel to outer islands and remote job sites.
- Advise and assist in sourcing and procuring new vehicles/equipment.
- Provide quarterly lifecycle and fleet condition reports using fleet management tools.
- Maintain and follow a shop budget.
- Maintain proper registration for all vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain an organized, clean, safe, and efficient shop environment.
- Organize and maintain tools, consumables, and parts inventories.
- Provide training for employees in basic routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ensure proper use of fleet management software and provide initial and ongoing training to employees.
- $34-48+/hour DOE
