Role OverviewAs a Mechanic I, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and preventative servicing of small engines, diesel and gasoline-powered equipment, and hydraulic systems. This role supports agricultural operations by ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime. You will perform diagnostics, repairs, inspections, fabrication work, and inventory tracking while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer service. Overtime may be required during busy seasons.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair small engines, diesel and gasoline-powered equipment, hydraulic systems, and related agricultural equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and servicing to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
- Dismantle equipment, identify mechanical issues, repair or replace defective components, and replace engines when necessary.
- Service, test, and evaluate repaired equipment to verify proper performance before it leaves the shop.
- Fabricate parts and equipment as needed to support operational and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate repair, parts, and inventory records while utilizing standard computer software and office equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, follow all company and regulatory safety requirements, and perform other duties as assigned.
- You have 2 or more years of experience operating, repairing, and maintaining small equipment, including diesel and gasoline engines and hydraulic systems.
- You have experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical equipment, with working knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to mechanical repairs.
- You have knowledge and/or experience with agricultural operations, trucks, and heavy agricultural equipment, preferred.
- You have experience with small engine pump repair, a plus.
- You can lift, bend, and handle boxes and bags weighing up to 65 pounds and possess a valid driver's license.
- You have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and build positive working relationships with employees.
- You have a high school diploma or equivalent, required.
- You are versatile, flexible, and willing to do what needs to be done to support the team and business needs.
- You present a professional image through your personal appearance, commitment to branch cleanliness, and dedication to workplace professionalism and safety.
- You bring strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with customers, coworkers, and other stakeholders.

The base compensation for this position ranges from $21.88 to $29.19 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience.
