SCOPE

To maintain an office that functions in a neat and orderly fashion which includes answering the phone, typing, filing and making reports.

GENERAL DUTIES
  • Be responsible for answering the camp phone and being the 1st point of contact for our clients
  • Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities
  • Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters
  • Assist with the clean‑up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer
  • Assist with evening cabin supervision when assigned
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Office Manager or Assistant Camp Administrator
SPECIFIC DUTIES – SAFETY AND SUPERVISION
  • Enforce camp policies and procedures
  • Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times
  • Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct at all times
  • Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion
WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with registration of campers
  • Maintain correspondence, camp bulletins, etc., assist as needed
  • Keep count of campers and report count to kitchen and dining room for first meal
  • Assist as needed in maintaining records for the U.S. Department of Agriculture
  • Make a weekly Fire/Emergency file consisting of every cabin roster, staff roster and their living quarters, and fire/emergency procedures
  • Answer phones in a friendly and helpful manner
  • Assist guest services coordinator with Day Camp Registration
  • Be available for camper parents, answer questions and give direction
  • Post bus rosters at the end of each camp week
  • Input camper data into a camper database to help in the recording of measurable goals
  • Keep main office orderly and clean
  • Assist camp staff in printing tasks and at times when they require the use of the front office
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead
  • Ability to operate telephone
  • Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to access and produce information from a computer
  • Ability to understand written information
