Seasonal Kettle Coordinator
FLSA Status: Temporary, Full Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Corps Officers
Schedule: 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday. Weekends and evenings as needed.
Dates of Employment: 10/15/2025-12/24/2025
Supervises: Bell Ringers
Rate of Pay: $18/hr
Closing Date: 9/18/2025
Benefits: Temporary;
Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:
- Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.)
- Contact all store managers to verify or seek permission to guarantee access to kettle sites (by phone, letter, or in person).
- Check all kettle equipment to ensure it is in good shape and ready to go; maintain kettle equipment, keeping kettles, kettle stands, bells, and aprons clean and in good condition.
- Ensure additional equipment is ordered if necessary.
- Assist with placing any volunteers needed advertising for bell ringers in newspapers, radio, etc.
- Make sure all stands and signs are delivered to kettle sites a week prior to the scheduled start date.
- Assist in conducting an orientation meeting with all kettle workers during pres elected dates in October; review responsibilities and guidelines, and ensure workers sign the agreement.
- Conduct orientation on Wednesday or Thursday of every subsequent week if new workers are added.
- Fully responsible for bell ringer scheduling process on Register to Ring.
- Be available at the beginning and end of each day to assign workers to sites, discuss problems, and answer questions.
- Be available to drop off and pick up empty and full kettles from kettle locations.
- Ensure kettle slips indicate ringer name, time, date, and location.
- Input kettle amounts and other data into the Register to Ring database.
- Use own vehicle to carry out duties and receive mileage reimbursement of 67¢ per mile in addition to hourly pay; must have a current driver's license and auto insurance.
- Minimum age of 21 and possession of valid in-state driver's license.
- Background check as per The Salvation Army’s policy; continued employment contingent on biennial background check.
- MVR processed annually per policy.
- Ability to drive and have a valid license and insurance.
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
- Ability to maneuver.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead.
- Ability to operate telephone.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Ability to access and produce information from the computer.
- Ability to understand written information.
- Qualified individuals must be able to perform essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
