Assistant Data Entry Specialist – Part-Time | New Opportunities Inc. (Waterbury, CT)
Hourly Rate: $19.00 | 20 Hours per Week | Non-Union, Non-Exempt
New Opportunities Inc., a leading community action agency serving Waterbury and surrounding Connecticut towns, is hiring a Part-Time Assistant Data Entry Specialist to support its Meals on Wheels Program and other service initiatives. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to programs that directly impact the lives of economically disadvantaged individuals, seniors, and families in need.
Position Overview
As an Assistant Data Entry Specialist, you’ll provide administrative support to the Data Coordinator and help maintain accurate client records, track service activity, and assist in program communications. You’ll be trained on the agency’s CXM platform and work closely with internal teams to ensure documentation is completed efficiently and confidentially.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Data Coordinator with data collection and service documentation
- Track customer activity for the Meals on Wheels Program
- Receive training on CXM platform for daily operations
- Create and manage Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, Smartsheets, and other tracking tools
- Research inquiries and maintain accurate client files
- Provide backup support to the Receptionist and deliver excellent customer service
- Accept telephone referrals and complete program intake for Meals on Wheels
- Create and distribute monthly newsletters to Meals on Wheels clients
- Enter restricted diets into CXM based on menu specifications
- Assist in quarterly audits by gathering necessary data and documentation
- Perform high-volume tasks with accuracy and confidentiality
- Relay program communications to appropriate staff
- Other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree preferred (experience may be accepted in lieu of degree)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in general office work
- Strong typing and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and MS Office Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or collaboratively
- Attention to detail and flexibility in task management
- Positive attitude and initiative
