Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Valid Connecticut Teaching Certificate with endorsement in External Diploma Program/Non Credit Mandated Programs (107) OR Mathematics Grades 7-12 (029).
- Experience in an urban district preferred.
Additional requirements include a background check, possible possession of a Connecticut Driver’s license, and ongoing professional development. The role requires extensive knowledge of core curriculum areas, teaching methods, instructional technologies, learner outcomes, and the ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, implementing curriculum, utilizing technology, maintaining student records, and managing classroom environment.
This is a part-time, non-union, grant-funded position with no benefits, scheduled for evenings (6:00 p.m.
- 9:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays), paying $34.00 per hour.
The position requires physical strength, stamina, agility, and good sensory acuity, with detailed physical and environmental condition descriptions provided.
