Position Summary
Chaplain - Per Diem at Trinity Health Of New England (Saint Mary's Hospital, Waterbury, CT). This part‑time role supports spiritual care for patients, residents, families, and staff, focusing on spiritual distress, grief, crisis intervention, and major life changes.
Primary location Waterbury, with travel to Hartford, Springfield, or Stafford Springs as needed.
Responsibilities- Fully integrated member of the healthcare team, working alongside other providers to respond to the spiritual needs of patients and families.
- Develops, conducts, and participates in programs of spiritual care to promote healthy communities, facilitating inclusion of faith leaders from churches, synagogues, mosques, etc., in the care of their members as appropriate.
- Master’s degree in theology, religion, spiritual care, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1–3 years of spiritual care experience, including CPE training; chaplaincy or spiritual ministry experience preferred.
- Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) strongly preferred; additional credentials such as APC, CASC, NACC, NAJC and completion of 4 units (1600 hours) of ACPE accredited education are a plus.
- Per diem compensation.
