Position Purpose

The oncology scheduler coordinates and schedules all oncology appointments for established patients such as laboratory, chemotherapy infusion, blood products, Physician/APP, injections, nutrition, chemotherapy education, genetics, symptom management and survivorship appointments; as well as coordinating radiology studies, internal/external referral appointments as requested by providers, nurses, and other patient care team members. Scheduler must be able to greet and interact with patients, staff and public with a courteous attitude.

You Will Do
  • Greet patients, answer phones, schedule patients.
  • Assist clinicians with pre-certifications/referrals, faxes and chart preparation.
  • Ensure the provider's schedules are timely and accurate.
  • Obtain accurate, timely registration and insurance information.
  • Provide clerical support to physicians, clinicians, mid‑level providers and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • College coursework in the secretarial or medical sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience working in a physician’s office required, preferably in a similar capacity.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology required.
  • Ability to communicate well and listen effectively. Bilingual is preferred.
