Description & EmploymentFull time, Day Shift.
Position PurposeThe oncology scheduler coordinates and schedules all oncology appointments for established patients such as laboratory, chemotherapy infusion, blood products, Physician/APP, injections, nutrition, chemotherapy education, genetics, symptom management and survivorship appointments; as well as coordinating radiology studies, internal/external referral appointments as requested by providers, nurses, and other patient care team members. Scheduler must be able to greet and interact with patients, staff and public with a courteous attitude.
WhatYou Will Do
- Greet patients, answer phones, schedule patients.
- Assist clinicians with pre-certifications/referrals, faxes and chart preparation.
- Ensure the provider's schedules are timely and accurate.
- Obtain accurate, timely registration and insurance information.
- Provide clerical support to physicians, clinicians, mid‑level providers and staff.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- College coursework in the secretarial or medical sciences preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience working in a physician’s office required, preferably in a similar capacity.
- Familiarity with medical terminology required.
- Ability to communicate well and listen effectively. Bilingual is preferred.
- 40hrs full time days.
