The key responsibilities of a CNC Machine Technician include:

Requirements:

Machine Setup:
Preparing and setting up the CNC machines for operation. This involves installing and adjusting tools, dies, and other components as per the specifications of the job.

  • Programming:
    Inputting or editing machine code to dictate the machine's actions. Technicians often use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to develop and modify these programs.
  • Operation:
    Operating the CNC machinery to produce parts. This includes starting the machine, monitoring its operations, and making adjustments as necessary to ensure product quality.
  • Quality Control:
    Inspecting and measuring finished products to ensure they meet specifications. This often involves using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
  • Maintenance:
    Performing routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and making minor repairs to keep them running efficiently.
  • Troubleshooting:
    Diagnosing and fixing problems with CNC machines, which may involve working with engineers or other specialists.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Ensuring that all operations comply with safety regulations and company policies. This includes wearing appropriate protective gear and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaboration:

CNC Machine Technicians require a combination of technical knowledge, precision, and attention to detail.     Skills:
    • Proficiency in operating CNC machines, including understanding G-code and M-code.
    • Knowledge of machine setup, calibration, and maintenance.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
    • Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Experience:
    • Hands-on experience with CNC machines, either from previous employment or from training programs.
