Description

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in-process inspections across all production areas — both upstairs and downstairs — to ensure product quality standards are consistently met. This role involves verifying work-in-process parts, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, and supporting production teams by identifying and resolving quality issues in real time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality inspections across assigned production cells during shift.
  • Inspect in-process parts for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall conformance to specifications.
  • Use measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other precision instruments.
  • Record inspection results in quality systems, including documentation of any nonconformances.
  • Communicate quality issues promptly to machine operators, supervisors, and quality leadership.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for identified quality concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to company and industry quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain inspection tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors regarding recurring issues or trends observed during inspections.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the plant.
  • Willing and able to perform a wide range of quality and inspection tasks as assigned to support production needs across multiple departments.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in quality or manufacturing preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment (CNC machining experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and manage time efficiently while covering multiple production areas.
  • Flexible to work assigned shift and overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while moving between upstairs and downstairs production areas.
  • Frequent lifting and moving of parts and inspection equipment (up to 25 lbs).
  • Manual dexterity to handle small precision components and instruments.
  • EEO statement.
