Aspire Living & Learning is currently seeking a Registered Nurse , RN to play a vital role in ensuring that nursing procedures for care and medication administration programs, medication documentation meet all regulatory and Aspire Living & Learning standards. The RN will conduct initial and refresher Medication Certification training and annual trainings for nursing procedures as needed.
This role will e nsure compliance with state regulations and licensing requirements having to do with nursing care, medication storage and administration at registered sites; providing program oversight, training and audits for nursing care and medication administration. Additionally, develop internal procedures and practices to support compliance with state regulations having to do with the storage, handling, and administration of medications at registered sites as well as nursing care protocols.

Qualifications:
- Current, valid RN license
- Current, valid state certification to train mandated medication administration course and/or meet state requirements to become a certified trainer., if applicable.
- Experience with diabetes care strongly preferred
- Experience with children and young adults up to 21 with developmental disabilities/dual diagnosis preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Nursing care and Med Administration regulations; ability to identify training needs and develop and deliver appropriate training based on needs; ability to conduct Medication and nursing audits; excellent training skills;
- 5 years’ experience working with Medication Administration procedures and regulations preferred
- 5 years developing and delivering Medication Administration training preferred
- Must have satisfactory background checks
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Ensure individuals medical needs are met;
- Participate in the delivery of health care services to the individuals as well as being responsible for the direct care needs of the supported individuals as deemed appropriate per staff in charge.
- Participate in the IEP/ISP process and implementation, attend team meetings and advocate for the individual promoting dignity and respect.
- Evaluates episodic health needs through nursing assessment and continuous observation.
- Communicate health issues to staff and update the individuals’ families/guardians .
- Participate in any medical intervention process until resolution is achieved.
- Provide relevant health-related training to staff, families and individuals as needed and assigned.
- Maintain proper and timely documentation as needed and assigned by supervisor(s), using the electronic record.
- Dispense medications as required using state guidelines and Aspire’s policies and procedures.
- Cultivate a positive and productive workplace atmosphere to enhance team morale and productivity.
- Participate in and complete training sessions as delegated by management to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
