Heavy Equipment Operator, General Labor, Forklift Operator, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for the safe operation and control of a wide range of machinery, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, landfill compactors, sweepers, forklifts, and track mobiles. In this role, operators handle tasks such as moving earth, loading and unloading materials, grading surfaces, and lifting heavy loads with precision and efficiency. They also perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance, including identifying mechanical concerns, lubricating components, and ensuring all safety features are always functioning properly.
The start time for this position will be 4:30 am.

- Safely and effectively operate heavy equipment to maintain productivity in the effective operation of the transfer station or material recovery facility during daily operations.
- Ensure the operation area is consistently clear of obstacles and that traffic is flowing smoothly.
- Performs general house duties in assigned areas to ensure safe, clean, and efficient operation of the facility. Keeps the entire floor clean and dust level low using water trucks and Bobcat front-end loaders, excavators, or similar equipment.
- Loads and monitors transfer trucks, van trailers, and rail cars based on the facility.
- Operates other equipment, including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid-steer type loaders, and other mobile equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance checks on mobile equipment and facility equipment and reports malfunctions to the Supervisor.
- Works all assigned shifts from the scheduled start to the scheduled end time.
- Takes an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace.
- Reads, understands, and applies information such as lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Participates in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.
- Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.

- High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
